HUMAN KINDNESS

Me on a picnic with Marie,
Toni and Selby circa 1954
I'd like to start by wishing a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my friend Marie Martin, animal-lover and vegetarian from a time when there were only about five and a half of them in the whole of England. I think Marie's about 574 (in dog years).

At the moment I'm on a lecture tour in the USA with Moira (who's writing a book about me called SMALL WHITE DOG. She insists I mention this every single time. Sorry.) Here are some of my favourite things about the USA and the UK:

  1. You should write an article about 'Animal Kindness'... The hope and happiness your kind has given me is endless. Cheers to Marie and Happy Birthday indeed! A friend of yours is surely a wonderful human. Thank you for your kind mention of me... I *blush* with gratitude. And I am so happy that you shared that lovely piece by Moira and Mark- two of my favorite musicians. I look forward to each blog post, Tony.

    1. Hello Ms Kara. I look forward very much to receiving your comments. They make my tail wag. I'd like to write about animal kindness and friendship but thinking about these makes me feel quite sad because so many humans don't think about us as living beings with thoughts and feelings. Luckily, there are also millions of humans like you.

  2. Still water by Ciggi Burns and Panu is one of my favorites! My human, SackJo22 makes me listen to it every night before bed. This is how I know she loves me.

    1. Hello again, Ms Cecily, I am very happy that you have returned to my blog and I will pass on your message to Ciggi and Panu. I know it will please them a lot.

Their thoughts, and mine, are with you and your kind friend, Ms SackJo22, at this time.

      With warmth and hope

    1. Hello Mr Timberman! How are you? I hope you are having the best kind of Saturday. One day we will walk on the Seven Sisters together - it's a National Park - and then have a cream tea afterwards.

      Until then, lasting friendship

      Tony Russell
